SHERINGHAM NORFOLK - THE SALVATION ARMY

Copy of Copy of Untitled-1b.jpg (10016 bytes)

The Salvation Army was initially brought to Sheringham by fishermen returning from other ports in Britain.   For many years they met in the net loft on Lifeboat Plain.

Later they built their own hall in Cremer Street, the foundation stones for this were laid on 18th July 1896.

Currently there is a Salvation Army Care and Share Shop in Church Street in Sheringham and donations are gratefully received.  Pop in for a coffee, chat and a browse around the goods on sale. All is very good quality, always a good selection of clothes, bric-a-brac and books. Open 10am - 4pm Monday to Saturday.
